Never seen pear turned before. Reminds me of Bethlahem Olivewood. Nice turning Al. I'm sure she'll like it!!

Hey you could make a full set of tumlbers

Thats a LOT better then the pen holder in my office. 

I walked out and grabbed a 6" length of 3" pvc off the floor over the by plumbers, gave it to one of the plumbers and asked him to glue me a bottom into it.

I'll take a pic of it tomorrow ya.

Here's my pen/pencil holder for the set I finally got around to making for myself.    A piece of Tiger Maple glued to some walnut with 1/4" holes drilled thru the Maple just down to the Walnut at a 10* angle. I like Al's better but I don't have a way to hold it on the lathe to do that. And I aint seen Jim's yet but I gotta believe it's a looker!!
