440C Stainless Sarge blade Severely modified, by Me, to make it a "Normal knife" Good skinner now......I never did like all the extra junk they put on knives these days like finger grooves, lanyard holes, serrated edges, ect.
So I made this one my own..... Book matched Elk tine for handles .......

Not sure what I am gonna do with this one yet.....

Comments welcome.........

That is a nice looking knife.  Put it up for auction and see what happens.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

Sure is a nice lookin knife Al. If you're not gonna use it yourself I agree with John. Or you can make it an LBL prize.  :innocentwhistle:

Well that one got a really big laugh out of me.  Heck of an idea there Glen.

Al,
It does look like a nice knife and one that you should be proud of.  I go back and forth on the finger grooves - some knives really fit nicely with them and others don't.  I just judge the knife by the way the handle feels in my hand and the type of blade that it has.  Did that start life as a Sarge SK-907?

Very Nice Al...I've always wanted to try making one myself. That turned out pretty sharp.

Nicley done Al.

may I ask what you used for the pins in the handel. Cant really tell in the pics. It looks like you have them counter sunk.

He died for dipshits too.

alscalls

Thanks fellas..

Slag, the pins are aluminum and thanks for noticing......they are countersunk
I have always been a fabricator and I like to do things a little different at times.
Keeping all the pins at the surface ...........would cause me to loose the shape of the antler, so I opted to mushroom the heads inside a countersink........Not easy, but I do like the outcome.

That is an excellent touch. I never liked using Stag handels due to when ya sand them off flush they dont look right. Your counter bore idea looks great. Did you use a cupped tool to peen them over or just punch them flat?

First I center drilled them a bit then punched them......to insure I would stay centered.....I used a hardened pin on the other side as I hit the punch on a jig I made.....the hardened pin goes all the way through the jig and is clamped on the other side so I can adj. the length.
I hardened the pin myself by making it from a piece of drill rod..... tapering the end......then I heated it up till the whole thing was glowing and dropped it in transmission fluid.
