And brought it back with us & made a slide show out of it. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did taking the pics. And in case you get bored right away you'll have to wait a while for it to end. I think there is 42 pics here.  :laf: :laf:

Thanks for that HaMeR :yoyo:.  Donny would like to know about the train if you know anything.  I'd like to know about the building that is kinda/sorta on stilts if you know anything.

Oh never mind :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
I say what I think not think what I say.

It sure is flat on your side Jerry.

That little Ford's left rear is probably not on the ground. That is a deep ditch right there. I didn't see where the operator got thrown off so I'm figuring all is well other than the tractor is stuck. Near as I can figure they were trying to push the snow into the ditch & went back a tad too far. That is at the top of the hill down the road from me. Out past the Claymont HS.

Thanks Barry. That's an old Chesapeake Systems steam locomotive. It's been setting there for a couple years now. I'll try to find more info on it. The barn on stilts is a bit odd. I don't know the farmer so I'm merely speculating here. If you're familiar with bank barns I think that might be what it is. Only it's not dug into the bank. It was built on posts instead. It was used for hay & shelter for cattle years ago.  There was less digging out that way & it takes less heat to keep a smaller space warm. There used to be plank siding on the lower part. This is all coming from speculation & memory of driving by there many times. HTH

Here is a link to where the Engine is setting. This is a historical place. My Grandpa worked on those rail lines for close to 50 years & Dad is a retired RR'er too.

Looking forward to them nor-cal!!

It was a lot of fun Todd. We did go down an old gravel road that had only been lowed once this year. Diane was not very happy til we got to the bottom where the big rock  & old box car in the woods pics were.  :laf: :laf:

I'm glad you all liked them. I know we enjoyed taking them. It was a very relaxing & rewarding afternoon.

HaMeR

You're Welcome Scott. Thanks for the kind words.

I still think it would be cool if everybody did this. Not necessarily on the freakin roads we were on. I wouldn't recommend that to anyone.  :nofgr:  I think spring time is a good time to do it as well.

Dad worked for the PRR & Conrail. My Nephew is still a railroader. If you're ever near Lancaster PA here's a nice museum to visit. I think it took us about 3hrs or so to got trhu it all.
