:yoyo:  Always fun to find a bargain! ... 22" & 2hp huh.... I use a 18" Rikon.... when you start needing blades I buy mine http://www.suffolkmachinery.com/band_resaw_prices.asp  I have them weld 'em up to length... about $15 for a timberwolf blade  (best blade there is for those who don't know)  excluding carbide tipped anyway.... hit one nail with a $100 blade and you'll go back to these.    I get the 4 tpi....it will go through a 10" thick board faster than I care to try to push it.... it really is scary....makes my table saw look like a toy.
Yotehntr calls... put something pretty on your lips

I would just like to find a good fourteen inch saw used in good shape. ALl kinds of tonka toys for sale arround here but nothing good. Jimmie

Well, I got this one dirt CHEAP and the guy Was complaining about cheap blades these days and how they dont last....   :laf:

I got it all back together today and I could see he changed from a 1/2" wide blade to 1/4" HF blade.......Without changing the lower guide blocks and back up roller... :roflmao: :roflmao:

He changed the top but not the bottom and burnt up the blade...... :rolleye:

It works fine now and I am going to get a 1/2" blade next week  and a new belt is on its way.... he installed this one off by one knotch..... :laf:

If he woulda just worked on the thing a little he woulda been happy with his saw......Its gonna be better than knew when I am done......

Tool directions are like game laws Al, nobody reads the derned things anymore.  My main need for one is resaw work.  That 22 inch rig your working on sounds mighty interesting though.  I imagine your wanting something a little more board capable for working large blocks . Jimmie

alscalls

Jimmie you would love this book......I bought it........

They are primitive but easy to improve upon....there is two ways to build a band saw in this book and changing the size to what you want is just a matter of a little math. My local library also has this book.

Oh man I can't wait to get my new state of the art technology so I can spend more time in there snooping.  Love old tools myself.

I need to drag out some of my old tools & check them out a little better to see if they worth anything.  :yoyo:  I know they all work.

LOL, my taste in old tools goes back just a wee bit farther than that. Even been tempted to build a few, but am too lazy to power the things myself  :eyebrownod: With a few peices one can build some pretty good hand planes and other finishing tools.

But I do have to make a few to do what I want around here. Even thinking about getting an Alaskan mill to replace my timber jig for the chain saw.  Way too much to do around here. I need a pet monkey. Jimmie
