My Savage 10fp .308

 Been wanting a .308 for a while, now I've got one.   :biggrin:

Savage 10fp .308 20"
Choate Ultimate Varmint Stock (painted by me)
Mueller APT 4.5-14x40 with  Burris XTR Med Rings.

I'll get some better pictures outside but couldn't wait to get these here.

Nice looking rifle right there and unless I miss my guess it will be pretty accurate. 

This is the one that I picked up yesterday.


I think I like yours better.

Hawks Feather,  I think yours needs a new coat of paint.

I have a target from the previous owner of the .308 that is .70" 10 shot group at 100yds.  I'm hoping I can match that.

I think you are correct, but it will be getting hand rubbed linseed oil.  About one coat a day for the next three to four weeks.  I raised a few of the dents in the wood, but didn't want it to look like a new gun - since it was made in 1967.  The gun seems to have been carried pretty well, but doesn't look like it was shot all that much.  Time will tell how it turns out.
