No, I'm not going to eat them. We call them painted turtles because of the colorful underside they have, red, orange, yellow.
I can't imagine them being very good eating. We eat snapping turtles up here though.

I figured you all would shrug off the pic anyway. It's actually a very common site up here year round. You very rarely see one painted turtle on a floating log.

That's a pretty cool pic Jimbo. Mom and dad live in a little cover we call "Turtle Cove" because of the turtles on the limbs like that. I don't see that many on a stick too often though. Usually the bigger ones start pushing the littler ones off.

They are as good to eat as a snapper Jimbo. Just depends on how big they are if htey are worth dressing out. Jimmie
