ball glove reconditioning

anyone here know where I can get a ball glove reconditioned & relaced ?   I'll only go with someone that knows/had work done for them I can trust.  My brother gave me his glove years ago and its a Nakoma that he used to pitch 3 no hitters for the HS team.  I'd like to get it redone and give it to my youngest.

I've only had one redone and the guy is long retired. I know it's not easy to trust anyone with the glove, but most people that repair horse tack would be able to fix it.

Rgr that, not many in the profession.  I've found a couple online but its sorta like finding a good gunsmith

Vic There is a good Harness/tac shop about 5 miles from me I have seen this ol fellers work many times and he is the only one I trust to fix my work boot also.He will tell ya right up front if the leather is worth fixing or not
The man is always busy and to me that is a good thing.

If you would like I could check with him to see if he is interested in working on the glove.

What are you wanting for sure so I can kinda tell him and probably get you a Ball Park figure if your interested.

When I was younger there was a guy at the shoe store that would put new soles on my cowboy boots, and he did a lot of ball glove reconditioning.

the laces are breaking/dry rotted and the thumb lace & pinkie lace are stiff as a board.  These gloves run up in the high $100's.  I spelt it wrong in my first post, its Nokona, american made.  Not sure if its bison or cow hide.

I stopped by the leather shop today
The very least it will cost you is $5.00 to have the glove resewn laced and oiled the most it would cost is $15.00
He has a less then a week work load right now subject to change without notice

With prices like this I am surprised that there is not a waiting time of a year or more.  The guy here in town starts at about $20.00 and that is when you walk in the door.  Any work done is extra.  Needless to say I don't take much in there.

Yeah Jerry this guy is as reasonable as they come.Dad used this guy when I was a kid he done good work then and does better work now.

Yes he is Amish and all his machines are either treadle machine air tools and all the rivets are set by hand.
I watched him work awhile one day and it is so unreal what he gets done in just a few minutes he trained a couple of his boys to help him out when he got real busy and now his grand kids help him

I can just see the guy sewing up a shoe with magnifying glass for lenses, oxygen tanks with hoses wrapped around his skull, while he sets in a wheel chair with a motor.

I am guessing he is in his early 70's now but he still gets around very well,and there is no motor on the wheelchair
