Barry....... that is a cast net for catching bait.......... There are Millions of shiners and shad right at my feet......... Throwing the net they spook from the movement...... so ya throw a kinda lead on em and you sometimes get an instant 100-200 bait fish to put in the bait bucket.... :eyebrownod:  I took a pick of them but it did not turn out.

The fish is a striped bass ....... if we catch one with a tag in it we remove the tag and take measurements...... We release them all.   When we turn in the tag we get a hat or a T shirt from the DNR as well as the info they have on the fish...... where it was caught before and when as well as how big it was. My daughter loves catching tagged fish.... :eyebrownod:

The water was clear enough we could see Gar, and paddle fish swimming by.......

Where would I find one of them .  I got's me a notion the boys would have a ball with one of them thingy's and the authorities probably wouldn't throw kids in jail for very long anyways :innocentwhistle:.

I've seen a lot of clear water but never a Gar or Paddle fish .  Sure is fun to be able to see the other world though eh.
Any of you guys use polarized glass's and if so do you or do you not recommend them .
I say what I think not think what I say.

Barry, somehow I missed this...... Sorry

You can buy a cast net anywhere here local in the stores..... also yo can buy them online..... trick is..... find out what size you are allowed buy law before you buy.... :eyebrownod: size of the holes as well as size of the whole net.
Mine is 1/4" X 5'

It is neat to find out how far a fish has traveled and how much it has grown....... A great program for kids to learn from.

I do recommend the sunglasses..... but these days with my regular glasses it is difficult for me to find a good pair.

I love my Polarized glasses.  Would hate to go without them now that I'm used to them.  You can get a pair of Berkeleys for $10 at Wal-mart and they do a great job.
