the neighborhood deer.

he was hit in the hay field 4 yrs ago and survived.

last year he was a 4 point.
this year hes a nice 8.  i dont know if he'll survive another year even with the collar.

we saw hin again this evening and i finally had my camera with me so i snapped a few pics.

it was neat to see him. hes kind of became the neighborhood deer.

he is going to need a bigger collar before too long........he will go into rut and pass out ......cool pics  :yoyo:
my goal: do as much as I can, as fast as I can, for as long as I can, and at the end of the day if I'm not satisfied I will be to wore out to care

Once he gets close to the rut, I would stay away from him.  He might be unpredictable.

Or you could cut his antlers off.  I've heard that calms pen raised buck deer down considerably.

It may or may not be true.  It is just something I heard.

i wouldnt let the the kids near him anywhere close to the rut.

we saw him last year with 2 does runnin off another buck so who knows what hed do to a kid.

the kids do like seeing him, so do i for that matter.
hes a beutiful animal and its nice to see him up close.

theyve been thinkin bout paintin some orange on him so maybe he wont get shot.

last year u heard a week into deer season he was put in a stallion stall at a local farm till season went out cause some guys had taken a couple shots at him.

hes a lot bigger now than he was then but i know hes little compared to some of the bucks ya'll got.
