Bills Custom Calls

At one of the local sawmills and came back with this

WORK This will be cut up for firewood

Here is a cucumber limb

First I ever heard of this kind of wood but I am told it is a member of the popular family

Then stopped at another sawmill and done some trading and got this
Maple burl

White oak Burl

White Oak Crotch

and a piece of walnut crotch 3 ft long 22 inches at the widest part and 3 inches thick

The feller wanted to give me more but I wouldn't take it.We both thought we got a heck of a deal and thats what matters both parties were happy with the deal that was made
He told me he would be interested in trading some more wood with me for another call or 2

Aside from that I can hardly wait to see what they become now that we have decided your not golfing with them. :nono:   The white oak burl looks to be big enough to make CC a bowl big enough to house at least one plant of peanuts :wo:.  I'd sure like a pic of the cucumbers off that chunk of vine too :readthis:.

I am sure they would be a site I want to see the monkey that is gonna climb the vine to pick the cucumbers since they would only be 50-60 ft in the air  :nono:

Nice looking wood Bill. Looks like you got some work ahead blocking it up.

John

P.S.     I think you're missing a lugnut.  I was gonna rephrase that but thought I better not.  :alscalls:

Bill, Can't really make out what it is but what is that piled up behind the oxygen tank . Nice looking truck looks like you can get into it any where you want.  cc

Bill,

While I am not sure, I think that amount of lumber will keep you busy for at least a week or maybe even two.

John it will take a bit of table saw work to cut up the wood
and yes the truck has all its nuts one lost a fancy cap

Carl

There is some treated lumber stacked there and some old barn beams

the old truck got cancer a few years back and refused treatment the guy I got the truck from was gonna send it to the scrap yard I got it kinda cheap cause he said it needed a clutch I drove it a year then put a clutch in it.This is my 3rd year owning this truck, and last winter I got another truck very similar to this one and has a lot less rust holes.I want to finish out this firewood season with the truck the way it is then there will be an extreme make over.

or maybe longer Jerry depends on how ambitious I get  :laf:

Nice haul Bill!  You're welcome to come down here and use my 18" Rikon.... for a small fee... LOL  That'll be a rough job on a table saw, but worth it just the same.  Some awesome looking wood for sure.  :yoyo:
Yotehntr calls... put something pretty on your lips

HuntnCarve

You got quite a haul there Bill!  I have to agree with Brad.  That's a pretty demanding job for a table saw.  If you have access to a big band saw, or Band mill, that would be the way to go.  Much, much safer!

Dave if I could get Chris to run the chainsaw for awhile  :innocentwhistle: I would have time to get away and use a big band saw  :laf:

I agree a band saw would be safer and I may know someone pretty close that has one
