Bills Custom Calls

I was up this morning way before I needed to be.Setting here watching the news and enjoying a hot cup of coffee when I herd something hit right at the patio door, scared the chit right out of me,about spit coffee every where and I jumped straight up off the couch I grabbed the flashlight and shined it out the door to find a chicken setting on the step. This seeming strange because it is only 4:30am.I opened the door and shined the light around looking for eyes out there and seen nothing.I turned the outside light on and went back to drinking coffee and cleaning up the mess I had just made. Then the god awful sound of a chicken being caught.I grabbed the light, opened the door and looked in the direction of the noise to see something run through the back yard, fox, coyote  I have seen both here. Now I am getting dressed to head outside when I here another chicken get caught as I am telling Chris something is getting the chickens.I and my shot gun and Ma with the light out the door we go to find we are to late all is quiet
The story of my life always a bit late

Bill maybe you might should consider investing  in one of those fighting roosters like Bop is talking about. One of those bad boy game cocks would give that fox a good thrashing or else you could  just do what some of the folks a little north east of here do.... keep the chickens in your house.  :laf:

Get rid of the coffee and get LUCKY CHARMS. I hear they are the thing for a morning coyote hunt.  :alscalls: :alscalls:

Sorry for the loss of your chickens.
sometimes I wonder....is that getting closer..... then it hits me

I had a personal conflict the other day, now I'm not speaking to myself.... I'm getting lonesome

I met the girl of my dreams, I was the man of her dreams too.....she used the term "nightmares" though.

They make stuff called "chicken wire".   Put that stuff between your chickens and the thief in the dark.   Might slow him down a bit.

Semp there are some benefits of having free range chickens.Yes you may loose a few to predators but that is natures way.

Even if they are not in season, don't you have the right to kill them if they are after your chickens?  Out here "anything" that is chasing cattle can be shot.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

Bills Custom Calls

If they are a nuisance they have to be euthanized  it  can not be transported to any other area

I killed a coon for getting in the hen house but only after he made it a nightly habit

Is the first time considered a nuisance

Bill,

Fur bearer season opened last Wednesday.  If you don't have the fur license someone else in the area should.  If all else fails just shoot it and if anyone asks you what happen just tell them that you found it - dead.  Which would be the truth.

Jerry

That is so true Jerry
My self I don't need the fur bearer permit I can take him on a land owners

Please visit our ol' buddies over at: http://www.easterncoyotes.com

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

If you are the only one who knows, and you don't tell anyone else, the knowledge will always be safe.  I confess to nothing. I was just sitting there minding my own business and have no idea other than that I was just sitting there minding my own business.     :whew:
