Snowcamoman visits Possumville

After much planning, Snowcamoman was finally able to arrange a trip to Possumville, Ky. to put in some time with old Possumal in pursuit of none other than Wiley Coyote.  As his arrival time came closer, the weather lookd better and better for hunting, but turned way too warm for my tastes by this past Friday, his last day to visit.  Still, we had a great time overall, and Snow was able to accomplish some nice kills, including his first triple ever, three bonded females from last year's pups, weighing 31 lbs,, 32 lbs , and 33 lbs.  Next day he shot a 42 lb. male that needed to go to the taxidermist, IMO, after a   picture perfect setu and response.  

Snowcamoman is one of the best guys I have ever had the privilege of being around, and we all should be thankful for al the real helpful research he does on the various ecallers and other equipment, in weather that would make most of us head for the house.  My entire family, including great grandsons, enjoyed having him around.  I only wish my health would have been better and the weather would have stayed favorable so I could have really showed him some of our hunting at its best.  Here are some pictures I hope you all enjoy

Bop:  I started out with a procedure to get 12 kidney stones out of left kidney.  I had one get out into the tubes and cause me a bunch of pain several weeks before my operation.  Since I had a bunch of them lying dormant since 1994, when I had one big as a marble get out into the tubes, I was afraid this one getting active was a sign the others would follow suite, and there were 5 or more I couldn't have passed in two lifetimes, I decided to go ahead with the operation.  Problem is, they couldn't go in from the top as my 11th rib blocked access, so he had to come up from the bottom which complicated the procedure, and he ended up missing two of the stones.  That meant going back in the following Wednesday to get them out.  All of this got me dehydrated real bad, and my electrolytes got all out of whack (To match the rest of me in all probability).  Then along comes my annual bout with severe sinus infection, and I am fighting something like flu or walking pneumonia as I type this.  Doctor sent out a stronger antibiotic (Stahist) along with instructions to avoid strenuous activity or anything that would aggrevate my sinus allergies.  I am more doped up than a steroid monkey right now, but seem to be improving as compared to yesterday.  Thanks for your concerns, as I share them with you.  I had no business pushing like I did during Snow's stay, but that's what I am all about until the end.  Never did know how to quit trying.

Fuzzyface:  That is none other than my distant cousin, Pogo Possum IV, in the decoy's mouth.  It is remarkably funny to watch the coyotes switch from audio mode to video mode when  they spot that marsupial in old Yote's choppers.  He is colored somewhat differently from most of my clan, being the outcast so to speak, but the coyotes don't hold it against him.

Dave, thanks for the kind words, but I am not sure I am cut out to be a guide.  I do enjoy working with newbies, especially the younger fellows.  I am pretty proud of my grandsons and their accomplishments in hunting deer, coyotes, turkey, and about anything else that flies or runs.  Josh is the real deal in all aspects of the game, and Jonathan can operate his mouth calls with the best of the best,   be it coyote, turkey, or watefowl.  I also feel a lot of pride about Chuck Mattingly, whom I refer to as "Graduate Student".  I got him started in the spring of 2008, and he has personally killed over 100 coyotes and has called in many more for other guys. That is a better record than I had after 2 years.
