I've had this blade for who knows how long!  But she's needing a handle and I'm posting her up to start getting some inputs!  Hopefully the tape measurer will help in giving you an idea of the blade's length.  So start pushing up those recommendations!  Can't wait to see how she turns out once a handle choice has been made!!

Some nice fancy walnut with some brass would set that off in a big way

Do you plan to use it, how hard will it be used, or is it going to go on a shelf?  That makes some difference to me.

Micarta if it will be used hard and something like Cocobolo if not.  Not saying that the Cocobolo won't hold up, it just shows scars more.  Here are a few other possibilities  http://www.knifeandgun.com/ then click handle material.

It'll definitely get used!  Will become part of my skinning knife consortium!!

I would do two thin layers of brass.....One on each side.... a brass tang, to keep yer finger from slipping onto the cutting edge and then Elk antler on each side......grind, buff and polish......to a fine sheen..... :eyebrownod: :eyebrownod:

You didn't really give a price range.. that would dictate a lot.... for a mid range price I'd say buffalo horn, highly polished... I've been wanting to do that myself... I'll be curious to the "outcome"...     If you're going to go all out  Hippo Ivory... but then a few of us will take you hunting and steal it.   :innocentwhistle:

How about a nice leathery oosik?

Whats it made from and will it hold an edge? Might be something to check out before ya invest a lot into a possible fancy handle? (Just me thinking out loud)  :wo:

I seen a knife done in carbon fiber and that was pretty cool.

Spalted curly maple or any burl with a lot of figure. Make the organic shape of htehandle really stand out. Jimmie

I met the girl of my dreams, I was the man of her dreams too.....she used the term "nightmares" though.

A little bit of trivia, that knife (or one like it) was featured in a major motion picture  The Hunted   starring Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio Del Toro.

The movie was loosely based on an episode in Tom Brown's life.  He designed that knife.

well a handle choice has been made and is nearing completion!!!  I'll post up pics along with the choice made when I get the knife back!!!  In the meantime, here's how the suggestions went wherever I posted up this inquiry:

I'm partial to antler on that type of blade and knife.  LOL!

Well the knife handle is finished and I just received it in the mail!  Jacob Bennett of Shared Obsession TV put on a beautiful osage wood handle!  What I can't wait for is the darkening effect osage has while it ages!!  The rounding on this handle fits into my hand very snugly and I can't wait to put it to work on some skinning!!

Check out the stellar before-n-after pics!!
