Try standing up tight next to a tree in thick stuff like that.  I use a mono-pod to hold the gun up.  Works for me.

I use one similar to that crazy creek but mine is camo and has shoulder straps, when I fold it up I throw all my stuff inside it. Works best for me vs the other chairs I've tried. I have a buddy that uses a bucket seat with a swivel and back pack straps and keeps all his stuff inside.

I'm going to do just that until I find a 4ft wooden ladder....already have/use a mono-pod.  Wonder how I'll hold-up standing still for an hour.

I make a little seat form 1x12's that you lean up a against a tree, rock, bank, etc. You can pad it and or customize it any way you want. It's got shoulder straps for carrying and finger holes for toting. I've never posted here before and I don't see how to attach a picture. I'm going to post and see if I can.
Well, phooey! No luck, it's pretty cool and cheap though.

(EDIT; I fixed your picture for you John)

I use an ALPS chair but I dont see it on their site any more, but here are some others...

I use a turkey seat similar to the one HaMeR posted about Frogman.   I also wear a turkey vest with a seat attached but I leave the seat folded up to serve as a back rest against the tree.  Very comfortable.

Same here, My exact set-up.

Frogman

As Glen pointed out above, I like the folding turkey seat . . .

That you see in the photos above.  I have modified mine by adding a foam seat to the top of the mesh with wire ties to keep my butt dry when sitting in snow!  The folding legs are longer on one side than the other making the seat comfortable when sitting on a hillside.  You can turn it different ways to make it comfortable.  It gets me up off the ground a few inches which I find more comfortable than sitting on the ground on just the foam pad.  The legs fold up for carrying and it has a nice carry strap.

Downsides:

It is a little heavier than just the foam pad!  A little harder to carry through the woods.
It is a little noisy when snapping the legs into place at the beginning and end of the stand.

Works for me!

Jim
You can't kill 'em from the recliner!!

Ive had mine 3 years and I love it..recommended to me by Big George Ackley...folds up small...height adjusts alot..and swivels which is real handy.

I like that, a lot. But that looks like a little more then I want to add to my haul.

That's the problem right there. Just how much do we want to haul.
I have a similar seat to what Frogman has w/ a foam pad I zipped tied to it too, but the legs are adjustable.
I've used it as a rest to shoot prone from.  :thumb2:

There are guys out there hauling step ladders to get the height advantage.
