They are mole diggings & the bird is a Heron

I am using a 55 x 250 About 25 yds.

My gawd those pics are so clear I found myself holding my breath while scrolling super slow so I didnt spook the birds.

There is always a 'throw away' rate, but I will give you a little info that will make you feel better. Years (many) ago I saw some sailboats and thought I would get some shots (all film at that time). I saw a guy that had a couple of huge camera bags and was drawn like a BB to a magnet. We started talking and he was pretty friendly (not all of them are) and told me that he was there shooting the sailboats for Life. He was shooting the top Nikon and it had a large attachment on the back and I asked him about it. It was a camera back that held 100 feet of film and the motor drive to pull it through. Of course there was also a huge telephoto lens on the front of both of the cameras he was using. I told him that I had a bulk loader and loaded my own film canisters, but had never seen a 100 foot film canister. It had been modified from a film (movies) studio and Life had several of them. I asked how many shots he had taken and he said that he was on his second. Second shot, no second roll. You get about 850 shots from 100 feet of film and he was on his second roll. He said that he would probably shoot at least one more roll. So, out of 2,500 shots, how many made it in the magazine? ONE! So, as long as your 'throw away' rate is less than 2,500 to 1 you are a photographer.

Jerry, You can't believe how many pictures I've thrown away trying to learn how to use my camera. I took 35 to 40 pictures and threw out at least 10. Maybe should have thrown out more, but as I post them, I let you all be the judge. I took these pictures out of the pickup window at Great Salt Plains Refuge. They have a nature trail you can drive. I hope to get better. Thanks for looking at my pictures.
