Went out yesterday morning to try for a gobbler. Heard one gobble one time about an hour after daylight. He was pretty far off so I kept moving and calling but could never get him to gobble again. I did call up a hen. She circled me and called or almost 45 minutes, but even SHE couldn't get a gobbler to answer.    When I crawled under a big cedar to hide from the hen, I noticed I had lucked into a patch of tasty treats. I went home with 98 of these :




No turkey but another wonderful day in God's paradise.

Right now I would take the mushrooms over the turkey.  Or on the side would be fine too.
