Tube calls are great for those who struggle with a diaphragm or are just looking for a diaphragm sound from something different. Pretty versatile for the more "practiced" caller, but still useful for a novice.

Brad my best analogy would be, it's a turkey diaphragm call for beginners.

Diaphragm calls tickle my mouth and lips so bad, I cant tell if I have to poop or squirt....or if I just did both

These tube calls are like a diaphragm mounted on a call which is a tube. So it eliminates all the vibration inside your mouth.
My GAWD! THAT sounded bad

... ok that's funny as heck,... but I still don't understand.. is it a diaphragm turkey call then? I'd still love to hear a sound bite if someone can put one together.

I'm sure Gene will save me next time he's around, but I wouldnt call it a diaphragm turkey call, I'd call it a latex turkey call. Which simulates a diaphragm.

It does, yelps, clucks, purrs, etc, by blowing through the latex into the tube.

You wont get a sound file from me, I've only owned mine for a little more then a day

Tube calls and mouth diaphragm calls are ,IMO, diaphragm calls since both are made with latex rubber. They are used by those who can't use a mouth call but also by experienced hunters. With practice, a person can make every sound a wild turkey makes including the gobble.

I don't have a mic hooked to this new computer yet but will try to do so this weekend and make a short sound file.

Sounds like Finsandfur ,Jim, is getting it down pretty good and I like how he describes it.
