While cleaning out my mother-in-laws house we found some nice "stuff", some of which now resides in Arizona.  Ration Stamp Books for her and my F-in-L from WWII, a forty-eight star flag, civil war drum, Lionel train (which we had appraised $550)  Plus a host of other "things".  My wife is still back there and while talking to her last night she said they found a lot more "stuff".  When I asked her what she wouldn't tell me, just that I would be surprised when I saw what most of it was.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

I have a 48 star flag. I fly it at biker parties and tell people it is legal for me to fly as I don't recognize the state of confusion or the state of intoxication
Don't bring shame to our sport.

When we walked into her house two shows came to mind, Hoarders and Pickers.  The lady was 95 years old and never threw anything away! I got six boxes delivered today with a note on each one "DO NOT OPEN".   I may not be able to get a picture of the train, but I'll try.  Our son and daughter came by today and our daughter took the drum and our son took the train.  She lives close by so I'll be able to get a picture of it but my boy lives in Chandler, about 3 hours away.   I was happy just to get the flag, 48 stars and made in the USA, doesn't get any better than that.

Imagine living to be ninety five years old, she actually went from horse and buggy days to seeing men walk on the moon and beyond. Those items she cherished represent the hardships and good times she experienced during her long life, nearly a century of history which can only be imagined by most of us today.

John, it's good that her little treasure trove will be enjoyed and cherished by those who can, and will, appreciate her "collection".

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

I had much the same thoughts.
