I found em tonight after work. And it's a good thing...I was having withdrawals.

My intentions were to feel out a couple spots and see what was happening. I figured maybe I'd get one or two, and I didnt have a lot of time.
I think I landed around 12 to 15 bass within an hours time. Only took pics of the legal ones, and they were mostly males.
Chatterbait, spinnerbait, and Senkos...they were all workin. Not what I expected.

Ohhhhhh!   And I got a haircut for Todd, since my last photoshoot

Had one of these sunsabitches hooked too. Man I hate these things. He was so aggressive I started freekin out thinking I had another wall hanger in the workings.
Chopped him up for turtle food.

I've caught a few of those dogfish/bowfins. They are some nasty SOBs.

That last fish has some cool coloring. Do you eat them?

The list of local and alternate names the bowfin is known by is lengthy, but common ones include "dogfish", "mudfish", "grindle" (or "grinnel"),"swamp muskie", "black fish", "cottonfish" "swamp bass", "poisson-castor", "Speckled Cat" "beaverfish", "Cypress trout" and "lawyer". In parts of Louisiana they are called "tchoupique" or "choupique".[4]

I like some of the names for them.  Says while they can be eaten its not recommended because they carry a larger amount of mercury then most fish (Almost double)

And they can tear up a $6.00 dollar lure in 6 seconds. Kinda like Bopeye and the six dollar burger.
Or wipe an entire years worth of fry, from any species at any given time.
I guess that was kinda like Bopeye too huh?

I like some of the names for them.

We always called them "Blacks" but when I moved here they call them "Scaly cat".

That cool green color from what I have read is their spawning colors. Jim you ever catch a bigger one and how often do ya catch them?
