Does anyone here buy their health insurance outright?
The anthem bluecross blue-shield I get through work just took another $20 per week hike bringing my cost to nearly $50 per week. (Company pays zip) And other then the $35 copay on office visits....it pretty much sucks bad.
I'm looking to dump it, but obviously I have to prove I have coverage elsewhere.

My BCBS is $78 a week for me & the wife. Then with the dental, vision, and other crap it's $92 a week.

My kids are on the Ex's insurance...so I'm paying for single which seems high to me. :wo:

Jim, believe it or not that sounds like a fairly decent price to me, if the coverage is good.   It is outrageous but better than our US people can get insurance for in WA State.  I'd really check around and confirm things before I dropped that coverage.

$2500 deductible and after our deductible it goes to 80/20 for inpatient
No dental, No vision.

(I'm pretty sure) I'm paying $210.00 or $220.00 a month for single coverage.
No dental, no vision. But with $15.00 co pay, and a $500.00 deductible.
I think it was like $30.00  a month less for a $1500.00 deductible.

Everyone's cost are going up due to Obama care.  Just the opposite of what the President said would happen.   :argh:

At my previous employer I had BCBS and it was all paid for.  The wife somehow got knocked up and I was gonna add her to it and my employer said he couldnt help with her part.  I had him to check the price for me and it was gonna cost me over $600 per month just for her and the reason was because she was child-bearing age.  I got another job and my insurance was only $200 per month for both of us.

Check this out, the insurance offered by the company i work for is a $300 bucks a week for family coverage. That is why I don't have any insurance.

I am on Medicare with a Medical and prescription supplement. The thing that upsets me to no end is that several Insurance Companies are now running commercials that offer "Medicare" Advantage coverage just like AARP does. When you sign up for it, you actually LOSE your original Medicare, and you get stuck with co-pays. The insurance company receives money from YOUR original Medicare coverage every time you file a claim. No wonder they can afford those television commercials.

Thay doesnt sound to bad to me, i doubt you will find it any cheaper. I pay 110.00 a week for family.

$50 bucks a week / $200 per month just seems high to me for single person coverage, no dental, no vision, and $2500 deductible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, or maybe somebody can explain, or add to this, but isn't it going into effect after the first of the year where only up to $2500.00 is going to be able to come out pre-tax  ? So that means even less in the paycheck for those paying for family coverage, or anybody paying quite a bit more then a couple hundred dollars a month for insurance.

Mine just went up too  :argh:GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I pay $112 a week for family coverage. Our deductible is 5K a year. I call it massive damage insurance. The only way it will pay off is if we have a major issue. Look into a flexible spending account. Money set aside pre tax for medical expenses can help some. Not all companies provide this so you would have to ask the employer if it's available.

My insurance went up $200 a month as soon as they started TALKING about Osamacare.  :rolleye: :rolleye:
