Pretty tough work today

Setting on a bucket in the middle of the Mississippi River with 20 mph winds IS NOT how I planned to spend my day.
But the way they was biting, it was tough to give up.

If you've ever jigged in 6 feet of water, with 20mph winds you know what I'm talking about. There's 4 extra feet of line between your pole tip and the ice hole...that run horizontal. You use your sixth sense to tell if you have a bite or not.

Fishing like that is more exhausting then riding shotgun with your Grampa through downtown Chicago during rush hour, when he's in  need a drink.



32 total....between my brother and I. A pretty fair trade for the afternoon we endured.

With fishing like that I'd have LOVED to be sitting there with you!  Of course, my grandmother is no longer alive to cook them and nobody fried fish like she did.

You know the saying:   A bad day fishing is better than...    It is crunch time at work so after an early church service I spent some time in an office with our bookeeper prepping for arrival of auditors tomorrow.

Dave...your like me. I'd rather have them bluegills then I would the crappies.
It still cracks me up that some people say you cant tell the difference. Heck my knife can tell the difference, you bet my mouth can.

Took em all down to the neighbors tonight, swathed em through some FryMagic, fed ourselves and their kids with em. It was the neighborly thing to do.
