Ran setlines with my brother this morning and then took off for a day of fishing by myself in some of my honey holes. It's not hot out, there's not a lot of idiots around the river, and I'm enjoying life at it's best. Around noon, I decided to go into town and get some lunch. Hop in the truck and the key wont go into the ignition. :doh2:

I fiddled with it for close to an hour, thinking no big deal..It needs to be lubed or something.
:nono: Wrong
The longer I fiddled the madder I got. If I woulda had a hammer I woulda opened the column up with a couple hearty blows.
I'm starting be concerned now, I cant get no one to answer their cell phone, I'm 45 minutes from home, down a dead end road in the woods that ends at the river.  :sick2:
I cant walk to town cause I cant even roll my power windows up.
I get ticked off and start dismantling the ignition switch on the column with a crescent wrench and a screwdriver. lol And I'm making a mess of it but getting no where.
Finally get a hold of a buddy that runs a speed shop outside of town and describe my mess to him. He says well since you proceeded to smash it up it'll have to be drilled out of the column now.
I'm like wtf :doh2:
I finally get a hold of a buddy that runs a speed shop on the outskirts of town.

Luckily he was able to pick up a new ignition switch cylinder and found me, and it took him another hour to drill out the ignition cylinder and pop in a new one, cause the battery went dead on his Dewalt and now he's an hour from the shop. What a horrible fricken way to end a day.

On the bright side... I got new keys for the truck :thumb2: :doh2:

I vote with the majority - whatever that was.  I think HaMeR did the same.

Would have been a good opportunity to get rid of the Ford and buy a good truck.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

I am not real sure either, but I think you got banned for harassment of the Jimbo.  But being the resourceful person that you are I see that you are still able to make posts. I am sure that Jimbo won't notice.    :alscalls:

:laf: :laf: Your company gave you a Taurus to drive because they want you to be able to do your job and not get laid up somewhere.
See? They know.

When did you finally figure out you were using the wrong key?     :alscalls:

FinsnFur

It's actually funny you say that Semp. Cause I borrowed my truck to a guy at work last week and thats when I noticed my key started acting funny. I think he tried jamming the door key into the ignition.

And no beer was involved in this adventure? :doh2: :alscalls: :alscalls: :alscalls:

FinsnFur

Nope :pout: I like beer maybe more then the next guy...buy I have never drank while I was fishing.  Many people laugh at that, I'm not sure why...but I'm too into fishing to try and suck beer while I'm doing it. There's plenty of time afterwards
