I really expected a little better response when I posted up that I as gonna be hauling wood today.

Well it kinda depends on the size of the house and how cold it gets. Remember this is only my second year using wood heat so I'm kinda learning the answer to that question myself.
There's 8 truck loads in the picture, each row is a truck full. And I think I'm probably going to need at the very least one more, based on last years consumption.

Brings back memories of when my parents moved off base (Ft. Leonard Wood) and the house had no central heat, just a fireplace insert. Went through more wood than THAT, and doubt it got as cold as it gets in WI!!

I hate summer heat so bad I cant even describe it. Even way up here. Its to the point all I want to do is hide in the AC for 6 months till, it's over. I hate getting out of the truck in it, I hate walking out of the house in it. I hate it.. I hate it.
I'd actually like to go further North. Like Canada or Alaska

Yeah I would like to have your summers and Keywest winters. Fires should be for cooking and keeping skeeters away.

Looks like an easy way to find the door in six feet of show. Or is that a snow fence so it will pile up in the middle when it drifts?

You'll need at least 8 more truck loads of wood. You see, I'm heading your way with truck and trailer to do a little woodpile raiding. I sure hope that you get that last load in before I remove the woodpile. PS, make sure that it's all split too.

But let let me know when your coming cause I have three neighbors that burn wood, therefore my woodpile is protected with a couple rows of #6 Newhouse legholds buried just below the dirt.

Make sure you keep an eye on any creosote buildup. My ex BIL almost burnt down his house due to a chimney fire.

I try to Semp. They say clean your chimney every year, but it makes me so nervous I do mine twice during the burn season alone. I also use a CSL sweeping log every month, and try to burn only dry wood.

One thing I do have going for me, is I dont use the house chimney, so I dont have the risk of the chimney bursting through the walls while on fire like those are famous for.

You aint kidding Fos...and theres no much sign of it stopping any time soon. There talking another front coming Tuesday that could drop a foot or more of snow.
