Ohio night hunt

Got out last night for some night calling 10/22/13.  First setup about 8:00 PM.  We started with some howls and coyote vocalizations.  Soon had a response down in the holler below where we were set up overlooking a field.  Actually had several packs respond from different directions but the closest were below and to our left.  After intermittently doing pup distress sounds and low high pitched howls I saw eyes  about 100 yards out at the edge of the field in the direction we had heard the closest pack.  The red EWT XL 100 picked up the eyes very well.   I turned on the XL 250 mounted on my rifle and confirmed we had a coyote.  He was looking right toward us.  I'm surprised the white XL 250 did not spook him?   When the gun cracked we heard the distinct wallop of the bullet making solid contact.  Nice very healthy male down!  It's hard to get good pictures on a night hunt so we took these with the good camera after getting back to the house.









Exciting evening!  We did a second stand at another farm.  Heard coyotes respond but no success?

Guys I want to be sure to give my hunting buddy Jon full credit for calling this dog in.  He even predicted where it would show up and that it would be a male!  I just did the shooting!
