Well I finally gave in to my Dad. He has been wanting me to take his reloading stuff out of his basement & make a place for it here. It was very difficult for me but with the help of my Brother we got the bulk of it out. We split things up but I got the most of the equipment since he has been reloading for about 40yrs himself. He got some very old reloading manuels & some other stuff that he found interesting. I was glad he kept what he did. There is a small amount of stuff left & some loaded ammo that we decided to leave in case he wanted to get out again. All in all it was difficult but I know he wants me to have it.

New bench. 2x6 construction with Oak plywood. The 2nd coat of poly will go on this evening then I can mount the presses & powder measure tomorrow. There is another short section of shelves that go to the right.

Ammo storage. While we don't have enough to win a war we are stocked decently for 2 shooters. Just need some 17M2.

OK. Maybe we do have enough shotgun shells to win a war fought with 7 1/2's!!

Thanks for looking!!

nice looking bench. ought to hold up to some use.

whats the press your mounting?  I see the RCBS scale so i assume maybe a rockchucker.
Don't bring shame to our sport.

He died for dipshits too.

Thanks guys. It's my 1st attempt at setting something up like this. Sounds like I'm on the right track.

I've got a single stage Lyman for the right side & a MEC for the left. The MEC came with 410,28,20ga dies. And about a half dozen bars.
Most of what is on the top shelf goes under it. I moved it up when I decided to put the poly on it. It's really not that cluttered yet.  :laf: I need to get a case trimmer, 221 dies, 9mm dies, & maybe 357 dies. And a bag of 7 1/2 shot.

I'm open to suggestions on setting the presses & powder measure up.  :eyebrow: :eyebrow:

I forgot to mention the Hornady digital scale in the corner.  :eyebrow: :eyebrow:

Carl-- I felt like a thief in the night going thru that stuff just knowing Dad was upstairs. I think my Brother felt it a little too. When Diane & I left she told me Dad said,, "They're awful quiet down there."  That really sucked to hear. But she assured me Dad didn't flinch one bit while we were down there. Maybe it was because he wanted me to take that stuff last Summer.

Thank You all!!

Glen, I think your Dad will be very happy to see all that stuff after you have it set up and using it, Sad day for sure as I think about all the "Stuff" I have,  as my wife calls it, some day will have to give it up. I just hope my Grandson will use it like I have. I'm sure he will also be happy to provide information in the use of it.

You did the right thing by taking that "stuff".  The older I get the more I realize why not pass this stuff on to my kids and friends so that they can enjoy it while I'm still around to see them enjoy it.  A three gun safe house is now down to a one gun safe house.  The contents of the other two have been distributed to my kids, grandkids and good friend.

Invite dad over to get his advice on how to set up your bench and make some load recommendations.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

I had a reloading bench that looked like that (clean on top   :thumb2:) and it lasted about one week.  Now it looks much worse.  I like the looks of your bench and my have to again try to find the top of mine.  I am sure that you will enjoy it.

I wish I would have checked back here sooner.  :doh2: That is a good idea Mr. John. Alas the presses have been mounted. I've also been thinking that eventually it will be me sending my stuff off as well. I'm sure Dad is happy knowing I have all this.  Thank You.

Go for it Jerry. You might find things you been looking for!!  :laf: :laf:
