Found a couple of old, poor quality pictures from another passion I once let use up a lot of my spare time for shooting and reloading.   After having become a serious handgun hunter in the late 60's, it was just a natural progression I guess to eventually get into IHMSA.     I shot all the Small Bore, Big Bore and Field Pistol Classes, but my favorites were the Unlimited Classes because I have so many specialty handguns for hunting.   Was great practice for hunting and a lot of fun with some pretty great people.   The last year I shot Unlimited locally, I shot 40/40's in all but one Big Bore match where I took a 39/40 when I relaxed too much on a 150 yard turkey and dropped one just low.   Won most of the unlimited matches including the shoot offs, and the 500 and 1000 yard fun matches.   Only way I can get down into the Creedmore position now though is to just fall down, and since I can't get back up easily had to give it up.   Anyway, thought you might enjoy the pics...

That is sooo cool Ladobe.
We've had a couple National shoots at our range, Tusco Rifle Club.
I have a Competitor Pistol in 6mmBR w/ a 10X Burris on it. I want one of those 3-12X Burris for it though. :eyebrow:  I need to send it back & get the trigger worked on, but I hate sending my guns off. :noway:

Larry,
glad to hear there's another steel shooter here. I got started because of the old tc/l  list. The match director from Green Bay was on the list and got me started going to matches.
I've made all the Int's in Ohio at Tucso (great range with lots of good people ) and got my first 80x80 last year in uas bb. I got a 79x80 with open sights.
It's going to be hard making matches this year with working 6/10's at least my home club shoots on my day off.
If I remember right I bought a trim die for 22-250 from you off the tc/l list.

Take care,
Mike

Mike,

While I did a lot of the competition shooting disciplines to some extent over the years, shooting steel and the 1000 yard matches with specialty handguns are the ones I miss the most.

AH, the old TC-L list.   I was a charter member of that one and ran on it for a few years.   Charlie R. spun off a new list sometime after TC-L went down for the old members and still has it running I believe, but with a very small membership now days.   Several of the charter members were still running it.

No way I can remember about the 22 Varminter die though... I've gone through so much reloading equipment over the years it's really just a blur.   Still buried under a ton of it.   Also too many Mike's over the years, although I do remember a lot of their last names, including some that ran TC-L when I did.   Couple of them I was even lucky enough to met in person.

Anyway, welcome to FNF.   Great crew running the place, and lots of great members too.

Slang term for the stell targets shot in the International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association (IHMSA).   Steel chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams sized according to the caliber and ranges being shot at.

I've been a way for a while, working too much.
Here are a couple of pics from Midvale Ohio from our International matches.

There are from the targets point of view. The kids are from WI, another shooters family. Sure had a great time and the target shooting has helped my hunting a lot. Not to mention meeting a lot of great people and learning a lot about reloading too.

Mike,

Don't you mean FLK K (or something like that)?   Did he ever get a life?   How about Doc NotsoSharp?    :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Were lots of good people on the original list.   What was it... 15 years ago?

Larry, both are still there, on the tcbunch, Frank got remarried and has a wife that loves to shoot.
CS is also very active there and also with One Good Shot which is now under new direction. I was a member for  a while but dropped it. It's supposed to be very good group/mag again.
I think I started on tc/l  in '90 but it was going on a while before I got there.

I was thinking more about "when" too Mike.   I semi retired in 1990 and moved to the desert in 1992.   Had been running both TC-L and VH-L for some years before I moved.   Don't remember exactly when either of them started either, but was a charter member of both of them.

Glad to hear Frank found a good lady, and that Charlie is still kicking.
