What to do with scraps??

I've been lathing away in the garage on some white oak. I turned these 2 little hands free squeakers that I call "scrappies".  No sense in pitching 4" of wood when I have a few reeds that'll fit.The small one is 1 3/4" long & the LARGER one is 2" long.  It looks like a hose fitting for an air tool. :roflmao:

Oh well. I have another bad picture of a cherry call I need to set a reed into yet. It's 4 3/4" long & should make a nice field grade call. Well,, hopefully!!

I'm not wearing Reeboks. Why would you ask?
Would it make my camera work any better if I did??

I call this one the "Cherry leanin in the corner forever" distress.   It might not look it but this one is smooth as a baby's behind. It's finished off with a Top Secret satin finish I'm experimenting with. (<< patent pending)  :roflmao:

That call turned out fairly decent hamer. 
I think I can tell you what your problem is with the photo work.
Your using a Kodak CX series Easy Share camera with a close up setting. When you use the close up setting it expects you to be 29 inches or closer to the object, (which you are). The problem is you cant can't hold the camera still enough for that shutter speed.....I cant either 

Set the call down, set the camera down, and use the timer if you have to

You dont need no stinkin book 
Turn it on, let it load up, and hit the menu button.

The timer will probably be the first option that comes up. If it is hit your "ok" button which takes you into the timer mode. Toggle up for "on" and down for "off".

Hit your menu button again to close the menu.

Set the camera into position, and push the shutter button. It will take the picture 10 seconds later. The red light will blink on the front faster and faster letting you know it's comin until it takes the pic.

The timer resets it's self back to "off" after each picture.
