Jim,

I have been thinking about this and am sure that the lead is only in there for the added weight.  So, if it were me I would just put some glue inside there so they don't RATTLE when you use it.   :innocentwhistle:

I have clear ones that have a different rattle setup. We have been using the red eye shads though from strike king. Smallies love em compared to ratltraps

I dont catch too many smallies on rattle traps, rarily use them for that actually. I use the rattlers for big deep water bass. Here in a couple weeks they're gonna be deadly when the bass are schooled up and having their fall feast.

1/4 oz Rat-L-Traps or 3/16 oz Cotton Cordell Spots, both in the blue/chrome finish are my top smallmouth baits in the rivers around here Jim.

If im drifting along at a clip faster then a jig will allow i go to a ratltrap or a red eye. The red eye seems to be doing better prob cuz its something different
