Was looking for mule deer and came on this fellow within 50 yards.  He started trotting away but stopped and stared at me when I did a soft cow in heat whine.  He spent more time staring at me than moseying toward the timber 150 yards away.  Had he been legal, he'da been meat in the pot.

Moose season opens in that area Nov. 1 and a legal bull has to have one side with no more than two points total.  So he wasn't legal even had the season been open.

Always fun to see game and this fellow got my heat to jump at least a little.  Saw a black bear in an alfalfa field the afternoon before on the way up, but didn't stop.  A black bear in a green field at 200 yards isn't a great pic and I've used up my credit of patience with folks by posting two white specks of Mt. goats on a far peak.

LMAO! keep em coming. Those actually, in all honesty, were literally THE best pictures of two white specks of Mt. goats on a far peak that I have seen for a long time.

I missed those specks.  Re-post please.   :laf:

If you were going to put that fella in a pot, you'll need a very big pot!   Great pic!

Them white "specks" are now at Wally-world being printed, them on to the frame shop.  Wife wants to hang them in our dining room, said they are works of art.

Like the moose picture, but will not have it framed.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs
