So how many of you got a new drone for Christmas? ...And plan to take it out hunting.
I cant believe how inexpensive those things have became and how fast they have hit the mainstream public hands. For less then $100 bucks in some cases you can own one.
Several states have already begun to ban their use for hunting. I cant say I'm FOR using them to hunt or not. I kinda think it ruins the whole fair chase thing, but there is sure some interesting footage out there now as they fall into the public's hands.

I agree on the fair chase but it looks like something that would be fun to play with. ;yes; cc

IMHO, they should be banned for hunting.   For the same reasons Alaska bans flying and hunting on the same day.  It is an unfair advantage over the game animal.   I don't see a problem using them for geographical purposes....to get the lay of the land.  That would be similar to using google earth.

I think today's ever evolving new technology is blurring the line between fair chase and high tech poaching.

looks not to much different then harassing game from a snowmobile or a 4 wheeler...
when you step out of the truck you become part of the food chain...

I feel the same way but will go alittle farther. It could take the hunt out of hunting it looks like you could drive animals any where you want them!
I can see PITA useing them.

I was thinking the same thing while watching the clip.  Seemed like he could turn that cow whatever way he wanted.
Very cool toy, though!

I seen some hunting outfitters using them to locate herds and yards of deer on their land and showing it to potential clients. That kinda seems like enticement  :laf:

What the [L] is the difference of using a drone over a ecaller, trail cam, electric socks or anything else that gives one an advantage electronically?  When did the wild game get so smart people need all these advantages?  Makes me sick to my stomach, it does.  I'll post a few pics taken with a camera but I was damb sure there to take them as I want to be part of the story.

tried snaring this one without thinking first. :doh2:

Only looks like I was higher than a kite.

little sequence showing they do jump.

Now I'm well aware I live where and how it is easy to see animals but I don't understand how anyone can think they are much of an outdoorsman if they fly a drone to get a pic.  I can tell you what will happen to any that fly by me. :wo:
I say what I think not think what I say.

nailbender

I think it would be great for scouting but any herding or harassment of big game should catch a heavy penalty.

I might use a drone to film a hunt or maybe get the lay of the land. But to actually use it for scouting or locating game animals.....  don't think so.  To me it's kind of like throwing money at your hunting skills and thinking there gona get better. Might as well pay someone to put a leash on it and bring it to you.
Don't bring shame to our sport.

He died for dipshits too.

Seen where they have a follow me feature that I think would be a cool way to video a hunt. You don't get to see the video till after the hunt so there's no cheeting.

The follow me feature would be awesome. I seen that too.

I would never use one for Hunting Game Animals but Feral Hogs might be different as they are very destructive and detrimental to the other wildlife, I can vision the anti's using them to harass the Hunters and like Barry said I think I know what would happen if they flew one over me.

That ole moose is thinking damn these damn fences :argh:

Get ready to bail Glen out of the pokey.  He is going hunting for flying things.

Mine can't stand the recoil of a 12 gauge, I'm looking for a 20.
Life's tough, it's tougher if you're a nasty, fat, unemployable, drunk, socialist. To say nothing of the fact you are an embezzler.
