I can't see the pics! But I have a question for you nastygunz. What's a descent starter flyrod? I've played with one before and actually was pretty good at casting it. I don't want to break the bank but get a descent one. Any suggestions?

Sheep's wool! Riverboss  thats a good set up that Dale posted. I would also suggest checking out your local craigslist they usually have a bunch of them on there that you can get pretty cheap.

I would suggest a six weight, that will cover everything from trout to bass and even Pike. Some of the big box stores like Walmart also have pretty decent combinations already set up for not a lot of money.

Cabela's usually has a huge selection of everything for flyfishing and sometimes some good deals in the bargain cave.

I would also check out any local flyfishing shops in your area, they often have used set ups.

Is that thing for barbless hooks or what? I would think a barbed hook would get hung up in that stuff, and I'd get pissed off and throw it in the river. lol

Bought a 9 ft 5 weight at field and stream in the kit for $130.00 Redington brand guy said its what they sell for the beginner. Going to use it for pan fish and small mouth in the river!
I'm going to try it and tie a few fly's to see how much I like it.

Brown woolly buggers are killer on bass, when you are stripping them in and they look just like a crawfish scooting backwards. Poppers also. Bluegill on the flyrod are about as fun as it gets I think.

Thanks nasty it should be a lot of fun along as I don't hook my wife!!
Now if it would just stop raining, the water is coffee brown and running over the dam in every hole of water around.

Ever notice how expensive those Betts poppers are? go to a dollar store, buy some colorful foam flip flops, whetstone, empty brass shell, sharpen the edges a bit, punch out some foam popper bodies from the flip flops, hook n legs= Fish On !!
