Dante's been doing well throwing worms at a small farm pond behind our house.  I took him to a one size up pond (still small - maybe an acre) that I know holds some decent bass.  It sure felt nice finally bending a rod.  Probably caught 2 dozen bass between us and then started messing with some panfish.

First time I've ever fished a worm hooked like this - worked pretty good - caught half of them like this (I know it's a common method, but it's always looked dumb - Dante showed me and now I'm a believer!)

and here's the ugliest bass I've ever caught

WOW :jump:

I am soo jealous! A few of those are some real bucket mouths.
I like the rubber worms, and yes it looks stupid but it is crazy effective.  :eyebrownod: I'll give ya another tip unless Dante already did....use salt impregnated worms. They sink slower and look authentic as "L" to the fish. :eyebrow:

Looks like a good time and it sure was nice that Dante let you see what fishing is all about.   :innocentwhistle:

Dante sure is growing!

Two that I caught were pushing 5 lbs and right about 20".
I'll have to try those salt impregnated worms - just don't let Dante know  :nofgr:

You got that right, Glen      -- = > :alscalls: :alscalls: :alscalls:  @ Dante letting dad hold a fish.   I had to take my own pic as he was staying ahead of dear ole dad and into the next hole.

And yes, Jerry, Dante is growing - too quickly as anyone who has kids knows.
Both he and Sarah are in HS now (9th and 11th grade).    :madd:
