Had a pretty good evening on the lake the other day. Wound up with about 35 nice bluegills and a few small bass. I wish I have of thought to lay something beside the bream to give an idea of how big they were. I measured a few of them and they were around 10", for around here that is a nice bream. Good eating for sure!!!

Very nice Ronnie! And some good chewing :eyebrow:
How big were the bass? Were not allowed to keep anything under 14"

Bass were about 12" and some lakes here in SC don't even have a size limit on them. These came out of a private lake anyway, a lake that is full of small bass. Way to many of them, trying to thin down the heard some. Give room for the rest to grow, the biologist that keeps a track on the fish in this lake told everyone to start keeping the small fish.

They look like big gills.  A few nice meals right there!
And I'd rather eat those 12" bass instead of 18" bass.  That goes for most fish I catch - fillets off just legal sized stripers, flounder, smallies, smaller bluefish, etc. all seem better than the big fish of the species.

Nice!!  I'm gonna get my fishing license this weekend & see if I can drag a few onto the shore!!
