first time out this season

Finally got some free time so I headed to my cousin Baloo's to see what was biting. Once I got there we headed for some retention ponds right across the interstate from his place and wet a line or three. Thought  were gona get skunked till I cought this feller

The next day I went to one of my favorite spots and cought a few of these.

Not the biggest but still a lot of fun on 4lb line

I didn't know they stocked walleye in those lakes.

All three of us fishing were very suprised when that walleye came in. He was a lot of fun on my ultralight

Sand creek Is where the other fish were cought. I talked with the CO that checked my license while I was there and got some good info on places to put the canoe in on that creek so I can fish for smallies

Yep 14 inches on walleye and saugeye but no limit on sauger.

Best thing about that was it was the first walleye I ever cought. Couldn't belive it was in a retention pond

Walleye is the best eating IMO. Those big ol gills Jim & his Daughter caught are right up there with em too!!
