This picture tells me that your gonna be picking cotton seen off your fishing line more then unhooking fish.

Actually I am looking down stream in that pic an I had just spent some time up stream in some riffles a fishing for smallies. No cotton wood fluff to deal with there.

I have more pics of this Sunday's fishing trip farther down stream bellow the dam. Got 26 channel cats between me and my friend kenny. I will try to post more pics of the trip when I get to use my WiFi at work. But for now here is us just setting up at the first hole we fished

It must drop off fast, that water look shallow. 26 cats is a lot of fish

Yeah it drops off pretty quick. Right up against the far bank it is about 5 foot deep with a rock bottom. Got holes like that all up and down this creek.

Never ate a channel cat - how would you rate them?

Not bad. Firm flesh. I would rate them not quite as high a bluegill but better than crappie

That's a heck of a catch Slag!  Catfish are some of my favorite fish to eat.

Nice cats Slag!! Jim, the white stuff on the water is sycamore pollen. It's on all our creeks and rivers here in Ky too right now.

I love channel cat...and those small fiddlers are some of the best chewin.
sycamore pollen sucks. I have no idea what it is but I can tell I would hate scraping it off my damn fishin line.
