Don't bring shame to our sport.

He died for dipshits too.

Put a dab of Tabasco sauce on them and slurp them down right out of the shell just like that :yoyo:

Haha - I've tried them a few times, but they didn't really do it for me.
Now the smaller version, steamed,  :yoyo:

Yep, love the little steamers cooked and dipped in butter.  We keep them in salt water at least overnight, 24 hours is better, and let them squirt out all of the sand before cooking.  Suspended in a wire basket lets the sand fall away best and not be reingested by the clams below the top layer, if they are in a bucket.

That's the only way I like oysters.  On our spring bear forays on Vancouver Island we cook oysters that we gather off of the rocky beach at low tide, no delay because they don't have sand in them.  Lay them on a grill or on rocks beside the fire and let them cook till the shells open.  By that time they are too hot to handle so as soon as they cool enough, we pop out the cooked oyster, dip it in butter or maybe some hot sauce, and eat.  Primo!

Full size clams chopped up or ground coarsely make great clam chowder, especially with plenty of bacon and cream.

A basket of fried clams, tartar sauce and dark vinegar :yoyo:

wish I had a 1/2 to a bushel of them right now... been hungering for a batch of Hatteras style clam chowder, then a bunch eaten raw, breaded and fried and of course steamed... I seriously like some clams...
when you step out of the truck you become part of the food chain...

I've ate them out of the shell with butter, no hot sauce to hide the flavor.

Really like a big old pot of soup though.
