Runt

I don't recall off hand how many Red Fox litters I've observed in my Life. But it has been quite a few. This runt below is a 1st for me. These kits are the same age. Yet the runt is under developed & about 1/2 the size of it's litter mate. Also the runt still wears it's baby fur coat & has not progressed much since birth. Note it's color is still pretty brownish. As that of a newborn Red Fox kit.

What do I think? I believe this kit started out as a runt. Et when nursing commenced. It never got much of it's share of milk. Which is vital for natural growth....obviously.
