Im sure everyone has things they remember their dad saying, mine used to say:

" that wood wont cut, split, stack itself son!".

I sure hope that isn't a 'real' teacher.  She doesn't know when to use is and when to use are.  I had one teacher that I 'inherited' from another building that would make mistakes like that. I found a few in newsletters and parents found many others.  I finally told her that NOTHING - not even a note on a paper went home without me seeing it first.  Needless to say she was not there the following year.
