The problem here is all the country folk and the good old boys, bitch and moan and complain about it but none of them run for office, and none of them vote. All the flatlanders congregate in the cities where all the political power is. Then, as soon as they gain power, they go after firearms hunting even fishing. I live in New Hampshire right on the Connecticut river directly across from Vermont. Our family camp is in Vermont about 10 miles away from me and because of Vermont magazine restrictions. I have to swap magazines every time I cross the river so I don't become a felon.
