I like it!  That is gorgeous country, and the snow blasted into the trees above timberline shows that it was a blizzard when that stuff was coming down.  But it sure is pretty when the sun comes out and the wind lays down.

Tell us about that hike!

looks pretty but im glad im not living there.  I hate snow.  not really a fan of the ultra cold either anymore.

I'm gonna bump this up just because it is a cool set of photos.  We've got country like that above timberline within an hour's drive from our house here.  Mostly it is a hike to reach timberline, as in your pics, but we have one place nearby where we can drive that high, up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park, right up from downtown Port Angeles, WA.

It is raining here at the house, cold rain with gusty winds, so it is surely snowing at higher elevation, probably snowing and blowing hard up on Hurricane Ridge.  Good day for hot coffee and a quilt on the couch!
