I actually had one for a pet for quite a few years. I was fishing along the Connecticut river one day and a little one about as big as a quarter crawled across my boot. Naturally I captured him and took him home and put him in an aquarium. I kept him till he was about 6 inches long and then it started being an issue housing him so I finally took him back to the spot in the river where I captured him and release him. Pretty interesting pet. His name was Pugsley

That one was right beside the Wild Ammonoosuc river. They love putting their nests right on the shoulders of the roads.

Tis the season!
Being this close to the river, they are all over the roads here.
Tik Tokrs, and other tourist attention seekers holding up traffic making videos of themselves helping the turtle across the street.
That one looks to be a mean beast, Nasty. I'd like to see the self-righteous tourists take a selfie with that sumbitch
