Check out this death trap of a sandbar I found on the Wisconsin River today.
It give me the woolies to know that there's folks that venture out on this river and see these things from a ground level view, and think they are islands. :holdon:

I feel like I've said this a million times but, they are pure sand. And the river runs deep with very strong currents.
The Harper Valley PTA kayak club might think it's cute to get out and walk around on these. But only half of em will make it back home to their families at the end of the day. While surrounding community fire departments recover the Kayaks from down stream log jams while looking for their bodies.
Underwater log jams, water rushing through them ( often referred to as "strainers" pin the bodies under water for days...weeks.
The Wisconsin River claims lives every year. There's signs at every boat landing, "dangerous currents - swimming/wading not advised".
But it still dont stop the idiots.

It is illegal to swim or wade at boat ramps here.
