I know many of you guys are already MPH members and like me, you don't get around to all the site on a regular basis.  Just thought I'd share a link with you that I think is very impressive... my brother pulled off an amazing hunt yesterday and posted the story & pics on Midwest.  He doesn't get online often, and only visits a handful of sites then... I can't tell the story like he does so you'll have to check out his account of the whole ordeal.

Worth the look-

Thanks for the heads up Jrb.
Boys that's a must read.

I've called half a dozen coyotes on video this week and would've traded em' all for this whole escipade!  At least he had his still camera with him for some great action shots. He probably took over 100 still photos, quite a collection on disk.  We took the video equipment back out to the scene and shot a re-enactment and recovery piece.  It will look pretty nice when cropped together with clips/photos I believe.

Last night he almost killed another coyote with a bow, they came through bloodtrailing a deer one of our youth hunters had gutshot earlier in the day.  They wouldn't slow down for a shot- would've been awesome to pull off another archery K-9 kill back to back!!!

I doubt there are many hunters who can honestly say they stalked and killed a coyote with a bow. That is an awesome story JRB. I didn't know it was your bro when I read it on MPH. He has to be proud of his accomplishment. I certainly would be.

He's the man for sure.........what a story. Big thumbs up to your bro.
:congrats:

Do y'all have a lot of Fox Squirrels? I rarely see a fox squirrel here, but there's a ton of greys.

Awesome pics and story.Tell your brother thanks for a good read. :highclap:

Yeah we have lots of fox squirrells around here!   I didn't know how a coyote would handle chasing a squirrell down but Ron said it looked like an adult playing tag with a child.   The coyote cut the squirrell off from the woods and laid the smack down on him- I figured it would take a lot more effort than that.  Since he saw two coyotes kill two squirrels in 20 minutes I assume that's a pretty common food source... glad I have that sound loaded on my caller! LOL!

Thanks for the comments guys, I told him he created one of the better threads I've ever seen on the net- pretty good for a guy that didn't mess with coyotes or websites until last year!!!!   :highclap:

This thread along with me hearing my dog kill a squirrel is what got me interested in getting a squirrel in distress call. It sure won't hurt anything having it in my bag of tricks...

The fox squirrel in distress sound has produced a few coyotes this season... I really like it because it's about half a step "up the ladder" from a rodent in distress.   As far as volume, pitch and intensity it is a little under the regular rabbit distress but hotter than a rodent- love the versitility at times.

I killed a few red fox with the sound too... it seemed to shine during the mid-february timeframe for me.

Several of these animals died over the squirrel distress-
