Picked up my MRC 1999 .350 Rem Mag that Hill Country Rifles put together for me.

MRC 1999 SS action (drilled and tap to 8x40)
Lilja #4 1:12 SS 20" barrel
Williams Claw Extractor
Bolt Polished and Jewelled
NECG Banded Front Sight
Brockman Pop-up Peep
Leupold VX-III 1.75-6x32mm Post & Duplex with Talley QD Rings
McMillan EDGE Winchester Supergrade accurized by HCR
External metal Roguard and internal metal NP3 coated

Weighs in at exactly 8 pounds with three 225gr. Nosler Partitions.

Shoots the 225gr. Nosler Partitions @ 1 1/4" and 200gr. Core-Lokts @ 3/4 MOA

Need to see how the 225gr. A-Frame and maybe 200gr. TSX shoot.

What the heck is that stock made out of? It looks like it would weigh 16 tons.

LOL

It's a McMillan EDGE stock. The EDGE stocks are made with multi=layers of 100% graphite woven cloth, laminated under pressure with epoxy resin. Weighs a mere 21.8 oz completed as it currently sits. The paintwork is Polane-T Earth brown (with just a hint of green mixed in the paint) with some black and silver webbing.

I've gone through many different makers stocks (Bansner, Bell & Carlson, Ed Brown Pounders, Lone Wolf). The McMillan stock is bar none the best one currently on the market. Unless one drops the coin for a NULA.

When I said 16 tons did you think of that song?  :eyebrownod:

Never heard of McMillan EDGE but it sounds like the cats  ......apparatus.

Anyway...nuff chatter, let's see some groups. I mean ya gotta be dying to shoot it.  :eyebrow:

Not familiar with that song.

Rifle range in my neck of the woods closed for good.   'Ol man Jim decided it was time to retire and do some traveling with the Mrs.

Have a friend that manages a Ranch, but will have to wait as they're booked up with deer "hunters". Will do some shooting and testing come the first of the year when deer season slows down. Need to test some loads on them nasty feral hogs.  :eyebrow:

Here's the grouping from the factory Remington Express 200gr. Core-Lokt PSP

I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine
Picked up a shovel and I walked to the mine
I hauled Sixteen Tons of number 9 coal
And the straw-boss said, "Well, bless my soul"

You haul Sixteen Tons, whadaya get?
Another older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

Your range is closed? So where'd you get that pic?

Nice looking rifle and after getting the loads set you won't have to worry about it kicking.  One shot and whatever you are shooting at will be down.

Sweet looking rifle and great cartridge. All this rave about the new short mags and here is a true short mag developed in the 60's. That round will slam about anything on the planet.

Hill Country Rifles.

Part of their Accurizing they actually shoot the rifle with various factory loads. They guarantee MOA or better with factory loads.

Before giving the rifle back to HCR earlier this year for some modifications, I shot it a bit and killed a couple feral hogs. Recoil is not that bad due to  design of the Winchester Supergrade McMillan stock.

I'll mainly hunt feral hogs here in Texas with it, but the plan is to get it to Alaska and Canada for bear and maybe Moose.

The rifle on top is an AHR Safari 550 DGR chambered for .458 Lott. With 500gr. Sledgehammers @ 2300 it kicks like a MULE!!  :shck:
