VVarmitr went coon callin with me today.  We drove by a likely looking tree & VV said,, Hey, lets call that big tree right there!! Well who am I to argue with that kinda logic!! :shrug: We parked around the corn & walked back. VV layed out the plan of attack & even the way he wanted the sounds played.  I agreed & away we went. We got set up & I got the "OK" from VV that he was ready & hit the FP. I played the tunes to his request like a good DJ would & within 1 1/2 minutes we had our 1st called coon on the ground!!  Thanks to Minaska for the DVD & to FP for the ecaller & to James for the good day today plus lunch!! :biggrin:

She's a nice 12lb'er!!

Nice looking coon.  I have never tried hunting them during the day.  If you are willing to share, what sounds did you use?

Shoot!... just hunting with VV was the best part of your day. Putting some fur on the ground was an added bonus  :biggrin:

"Like a good DJ would".. :laf: That part cracked me up.

Thanks guys!! You all are starting to  make me  :biggrin: again!! :laf: That was the last stand of te day. I think we made 12 stands yesterday. I'm not sure we have it all figured out but we did on one stand anyhow. :laf: We started that set with the FP Twittering Raccoon for 5-6 twitters :laf: then went to FP Coon Distress #2 & within one minute of that sound she came out to investigate. We tried the coon pup distress for a few more minutes then stopped the stand. All I did was shoot. VV did the rest. :wink:

Yep,, VV is a good guy to hunt with & hang around with. He just wants to call in critters & shoot em like we all do. We talked about getting Bill around here for some hunts too. :eyebrow:

For all you Southern ,, read WARM weather year round :laf:,, folk that white stuff is 5 inches of frost. :innocentwhistle: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Yesterday was just a great day to have off for me. I love being in the woods when the snow is falling.  :biggrin:  :biggrin:  :biggrin:
Glen & I were sure putting in the stands. The cool thing w/ Glen is we would critique our stands & each other. Plus Glen lent me his Crumblin' 'Coons DVD by Minaska Outdoors before hand so we'd be on the same page. Pretty smart thinkin' for Glen. :eyebrownod:  Good DVD BTW! ;yes;
The last stand was no brains on my part.  :iroll: It was more a process of elimination.    :laf:

That "white stuff" is the latter Fall colors we indure enjoy here in Ohio.
Glen's wearing all those clothes in case a 'coon jumps him. That way the 'coon has to gnaw through all those layers before getting to the stuff w/ the blood & nerves in it.  :huh:  Again pretty smart thinkin' for Glen! :laf:

'Coon or no 'coon, I had a great day w/ Glen. A dandy feller to hunt w/! :thumb2:

BTW Bill & Bob, we keep saying how we'd like to get out w/ you guys too. Maybe even that Dirty Joe er Joe Dog er whatever his name is if he happens to show up here again. :wink:
BTW OhBob do you have the 'coon calls on your Fox Pro? :wo:
