It is shamefully ironic that the way to prevent this kind of crap is to have an armed population but that the result of this kind of cramp is a renewed attempt to disarm the population.

Earlier that morning, the shooter killed 2 and wounded 2 about 100 miles to the north. Because of that, the pastor at the CO Spgs church asked the security chick to come in and keep watch. Just in case. Good thing.

100 years ago these whack-jobs would have been eliminated from society by the general population. Survival of the fittest. But no more. Now we have Political Correctness. Instead of being institutionalized, they are allowed to walk among us. And prey upon the weak.

I'm kinda with ya arse, but the rub that I see is there are plenty of people I encounter on a daily basis that have [what I percieve as] poor judgement and a short fuse. Then again, I think [as they probably think] that I shouldn't be restricted on my access to my guns. The 'wild west' was a real proof point. Today is another proof point. I'll be danged if I know the answer, but I don't much cotton to a solution that takes my guns out of my hands, but the yahoos still have them. But I would also prefer a world that didn't require me to have my gun at Sunday service.

It is a tough one. I agree that there are people that make poor decisions and have short fuses but no matter what the government does anyone who wants badly enough to have a gun will be able to get one and it is when guns are not legal to own by the common citizen that the only people that want/need one bad enough are the people that are going to use them in crime. There is no such thing as keeping guns out any more then we have been able to keep illegal Hispanics or drugs out. I just want to be able to have an opportunity to have equal gun power to a criminal who is intent on doing harm to me or my family. I do not want to rely on my tax dollars paid to local and federal government law enforcement to save my family from harm when in the dark of the night some cranked up joker breaks into my house. Seeing as how my hard earned tax dollars probably really went to some socialist program or to allow for illegals to get driver's licences and in state tuition. The only person you can COUNT on for mine and my families life is ME and I never want to be outgunned in my own home. Maybe I tilt too far to the Right on these issues but there is no government in the world that can effectively protect or police it's citizens and still be free. That leaves me with Freedom=Firearms for self protection. A gun must be the last option because even if you are well within your rights, using a gun in self defense will hurt you badly. Including issues like overzealous prosecution (depending on where you live) to getting sued by the criminals family because he was just breaking into your house to get some money to feed his family because the government couldn't provide for him and he is unwilling to do the work the illegals are willing to do.
