boring story at the bottom  :innocentwhistle:

I figure since most folks scroll down to see the pictures 1st I thought this would make it easier.  :laf:

The 2nd stand today produced this nice female at juat under 100yds. I started with female invitation for a couple howls then waited 2 minutes. Then I went to the Chicken Distress on the FX3 & within 2 minutes I was lighting a fire under a 40gr Berger HP & hoping for the best!! She came into the hay field 200yds out & just loped into the gun. She was fixed on the FP as she came in looking for the Colonel!! When she got inside the 100yd mark I let her have it. She made it about 60yds into the woods where her hunger pains were no longer an issue to either of us.  :eyebrownod: :eyebrownod:

The chicken on a string story brings back memories for me. When I was about 16, a friend and I actually took one of his chickens out and staked it down, tied to a string  :huh:. It was a full moon night with snow on and as soon as that chicken started squalling and raising ten kinds of hell, my first thought and first thing I said to Mike was, we didn't bring enough shells :holdon:  :biggrin:

Unfortunately, nothing showed up :rolleye:

You'd be amazed how many people are out there tying chickens up by their hind legs and poking them with a stick!!!   Seriously.

A couple years ago Pilgrim and I came across a dead chicken hanging along a fencerow... and then called a coyote nearby.   A guy that works for me put his daughters pet rabbit in a milk crate (two weeks ago) and sat it in the field behind his house all night... thinking a coyote would be standing beside it when the sun came up.

Some folks just have no concept;

A chicken on a string is tollerable, or at the very least understandable to a unknowledgable but motivated aspiring caller, but wait till someone tags a double using "crocodile distress".

Yer the man Glen!
