Yesterday afternoon I had the privilege to hang out with Mr. Cronk. We sat around the table some, told some stories, blew on some calls, I got to ask a few questions and get a little advice. Had a good time. He had a few horns layin there, some completed howlers, and one, the mate to the one that ninth bought, that was almost completed. I asked him to put a reed in so I could hear it. He cut out a reed, did a little fine tunin on the toneboard, and let er rip. That was all it took! It had to come home with me.
The pictures don't do em justice.   Thanks again Rich.

As I was takin a couple pics to post of my new Cronk howler, I came across a pic of my howler I got from Brad a little while back. I was thinkin I posted pics of it back when I got it, but I did a little checkin and can't find where I did,    so here's a couple pics.

This thing is sweet ! Sounds great, and this baby will reach out there ! Plus it's just plain cool
I know there's others that make a great howler, but I gotta say I couldn't be happier, or prouder of these two here.
Thanks again to both of ya.   Scott

That Holzer feller is a real artist, and a dang good howler maker also.  Having the fancy, girly like signature and his artistic abilities, plus the carving/Scrimshaw talent is enough to pizz me off. To say that I am a little jealous would be an under statement. To top it all off, did ya ever see Mr. Holzer bragging about his outstanding abilities? Nope. He is so humble that it almost makes me puke.

Jim, it's about 1 hr 45 mins from my house to Rich's. Work brings me within 15 or 20 mins of his house almost every week. I really enjoyed hangin out with him, as long as the invite is open, it probably won't be my last time.  - and no, no spit swappin here.  :puke:  :laf:

You other two yahoos, I can feel the love this mornin.   :laf: :laf: :laf:
Rich I'll agree with ya he's got a lot of talent, and is a heck of a guy too! You may not have as much"artsy"ability, but everyone knows what yours sound like, and I'm tickled to have one now! I hate to say it, but I could see it being a little addicting and not sure that I can stop at just one.  :doh2: :laf:
vvarmitr, I'm sorry,,,,,,, :innocentwhistle:,,,,,,,, NOT !  :laf: :yahoo: When I saw it, I thought it was cool lookin and a really original lookin horn, but I gotta tell ya the deal was sealed when he blew it.  :thumb2: Man it sounds sweet! I'll tell ya it's worth every penny too!  :laf: :roflmao:

Thanks Jerry, and I agree, I couldn't be happier with them both!
