I turned 2 new pen styles today & built a light box. The end results are nearly what I've been trying to achieve. The center pen is Purple Stabilized Maple Burl. The purple doesn't show in the pic like it does on the pen  but it's closer than white I've been able to achieve. The other 2 are Bocote with over size comfort grips & gel refills for you die hard writers.    They will be for sale as well.  :eyebrow:

Hope you like em!!

Nice lookin pens Glen.........

Now to be the critical jerk....... :noway:

1. Try using a piece of posterboard from Wal-mart for the background instead of what you used. Whatever it was, caused a glare straight back in the camera.
2. Try taking the picture from a slight angle as that will also keep the light from bouncing right back into the camera.
3. You need more light. Try using a sheet for the sides and top, and using flood lights on the sides, and a desk light close to the top. The sheet filters the light and
    makes it look more natural.
4. Crop your picture so that the corner of the box and bottoms do not show.

I guess I am not trying to be a jerk, but I used to be a pro and photographed weddings for several years. Anywho, give that a try and lets see some more pens.

Glen,

Those do look nice.  It seems that your pens have gone from Bics to S.T. Dupont Diamond Head Ballpoints.  I am glad that I got one when I still had money.

  Not sure what to say to that ^^^^!!

I'll start with a big ol THANK YOU tho!!

I certainly am trying to make stuff that the turners/members on here would be proud to own. Heck everybody for that matter. You are just 2 of the many fine call makers & artists I've got to know,, whether it be personally or on the net,, & I do owe part of this to all you guys for posting what you make. You guys sure know how to set the bar for the new guys.   And you've all helped me in one way or another. Right down to that dirty dog Joe up there.  :eyebrow:  Hopefully I'll be able to take worthy pictures now. And I have even more stuff rattlin around in the ol boxcar too.  :eyebrow:

Remember-- Pens make great gifts for those hard to buy for loved ones in your life!!

Yeah........I know.

My pen of choice is a Uni-Ball Signo 207 Premier, only because of who I work for I am forced to use Uni-Ball or Papermate.

HaMeR

THAT is a cool pen!! It prolly doesn't have the warm feeling of real wood tho.  :eyebrow:  :laf: :laf:

Does it write half as good as it looks??  :eyebrow:

I have tried lots of different one seeing as I have endless possibilities, and this one feels good, looks good, and writes good. This is the better version of the one you see the commercial for. It uses a kind of ink that can not be washed off a check so a check can be re used. It bleeds into the paper. I tried to find the commercial for it, but I can't find it.  :rolleye:

turkhunter

Nice pens. The comfort pens are great for people with problems with there hands that can't grip a slim pen. Turkhunter :congrats:

HaMeR

Thats a nice pen Joe.

Thanks turkhunter. I never thought about that but you are right.

The 207 ink was endorsed by Frank Abagnale Jr. (Catch Me If You Can).  "When writing checks and filling out important documents, use a gel pen, like the Uni-Ball 207, so thieves can't remove the ink and change the information. These pens trap the ink within the fibers of the paper, making it essentially impossible for check washing to occur."

The 207 does write pretty nice, now if Glen can just get that refill into a "real" body.   :innocentwhistle:
