for the sound ya can't beat a elk power howler.  I have been messing with my new camara the last two weeks and a few guys had asked for a latex howl vid.  after a week of cursing at the computer and finally realizing that windows movie maker does not accept mpeg2 files and only takes wmv I got a vid loaded.  been messing with the crows when they come in.  anyhow here is a clip.

this is a power howler that I put a nice cream colored horn on to get the sound out there.  I normally do not get that aggresive on the howler and if I hear that sound normally it means I am busted.  it is getting raspy because of the latex band gettin old.  but I replace em when I need to.  now that I got this video thing down expect to see some g-hog footage this summer.  allready started messin with the crows.

I hear ya Ben. The power howler offers the most realistic howls. Someone with experience and a diaphram call can give the power howler a good run for it's money though. My son sounds really good with a diaphram call.

Have fun with the video camera!!! Lookin forward to seeing some footage!

A power howler IS a type of  diaphram  call.  Some people like em.  :innocentwhistle:

bigben,

Both of the calls mentioned are operated by blowing air around a latex reed.  Same material, just a bit different  in method of  operation.

this was done on a video camara I recently bought.  the un compressed footage is nice and sharp.  but I compressed this file down to 1 mb because that is what I thought photobuckets max was.  here it is 100mb.  I have been messin with it a good bit lately and had my first callin with it and missed everything.  had a grey come in and he seen me move and that was it.  I can just barely see him in the corner of the clip for a second.  you guys that film hunting I  :bowingsmilie: to you.  this chit is hard.
